About
Is pole for everyone?
Yes! We are committed to providing an inclusive environment for all, regardless of gender, age, gender identity, race, health status, national origin, relationship status, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and religion.
What should I wear to class?
For your first class wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move around in, similar to something you might wear to a yoga class. Please refrain from using lotions or oils at least eight (8) hours prior to your first class. Lotions or oils can cause you to slip on the pole and will handicap your grip. We ask that you also remove all jewelry, like rings and bracelets and tuck them away somewhere safe. This is to protect both our poles and your jewels. If you are climbing, spinning, or inverting in class, you will need to wear shorts.
I am out of shape. Is pole dancing for me?
YES! We adore beginners. We welcome dancers of every shape, size, ability, and age. You do not need to be in shape to start. Many dancers find pole dancing gets them in the best shape of their lives — it just takes signing up for that first class to get started on your new fitness journey.
What should I bring to class?
Please bring a water bottle and any other items listed in the class descriptions such as knee pads, heels, socks, and/or legwarmers. If you are climbing, spinning, or inverting, you will need shorts.
I'm new in town or transferring from another Pole studio. Do I have to take the Intro Series?
Please email the studio to set up a new student assessment at the studio and we can properly place you in a class at info@polefitnessseattle.com.
I have an extensive dance background. Do I need the Intro Series?
We recommend the Intro Series because the foundation of our approach to pole is taught in this class. There are also important safety elements and terminology that are essential for all of our students. The exception to this is usually 2-3 private lessons, in which our instructors can work with you one-on- one. Please contact us for more information.
Is the pole safe?
We use permanently mounted poles that have been manufactured just for our studio by X-Pole. They are the highest rated among industry professionals. For more information or to purchase one for your home contact us directly.
